TC90541:OFDM Demodulation and Error Correction IC for ISDB-T One-Segment Receivers

Fabricated using Toshiba's proprietary RFCMOS process, the TC90541 combines an RF tuner with an OFDM demodulation and error correction on a single chip. The TC90541 is specifically designed for ISDB-T one-segment receiver applications and conforms to ARIB STD-B31, a terrestrial digital television broadcasting standard.
The integrated unique interference detection unit allows the TC90541 to avoid radio waves that could interfere with ISDB-T reception, such as regular terrestrial TV waves. This allows for precise tuning of a desired frequency, which improves reception sensitivity and reduces power consumption. The TC90541 is offered in two types of packages to address a variety of needs for mobile devices: a standard WCSP suitable for on-board assembly and a thin WCSP that fits into a small tuner module.

Package WCSP59(*)
RF UHF-band low-IF tuner
OFDM Mode 2 (Guard Interval ratio: 1/4 or 1/8), Mode 3 (Guard Interval ratio: 1/4, 1/8 or 1/16)
QPSK/DQPSK (coding rate: 1/2 or 2/3); 16QAM (coding rate: 1/2)
Presetting and automatic identification of transfer modes and Guard Interval ratio
MPEG-2 transport stream output; general-purpose I/O ports (incl. DAC2)
C/N monitor; error rate monitor; host-controlled I2C

*:Wafer-level Chip-Size Package: The redistribution layer, a protection film and solder balls are formed on the silicon wafer before die are singulated. The WCSP can be smaller than regular packages where lead/ball forming and molding are done after singulation.
