CD/MP3/DVD
Toshiba's CD/MP3 processors play back both standard CD and compressed music files, such as MP3, with high quality sound. Toshiba is also developing CD/MP3 processors that support music playback from a USB memory stick as well as an easy link to portable music players like iPod®.
Toshiba's CD/MP3 processors designed for car audio applications support multiple storage media, multi-format audio decoding and MP3 encoding. The CD/MP3 processors can play back various audio formats and allow various audio media to be connected. To meet car audio needs, the CD/MP3 processors use a low-leakage SRAM to reduce standby current. Additionally, there are CD/MP3 processors that contain a DRAM in a system-in-package (SiP) as a shockproof memory. Support for various storage media links car audio, home audio and portable audio together and brings high quality sound and easy usage to the inside of cars.

Roadmap
To address the needs of a variety of media disk players in diverse system configurations, Toshiba is developing not only high-performance media processors but also feature-limited versions such as simple CD processors.

Product Introduction
CD/MP3 Processors with Audio Decoders: TC94A92FG/TC94A93MFG
The TC94A92FG and TC94A93MFG audio playback processors support both CD and compressed audio formats. The TC94A93MFG contains a 16-Mbit DRAM in a system-in-package (SiP) to provide shockproof capability necessary for car audio applications. The TC94A92FG and TC94A93MFG are pin-compatible and interchangeable with each other. This makes it possible to use the same pc board to create CD/MP3 players with and without shockproof capability. Additionally, the TC94A92FG and TC94A93MFG can take audio bit streams from USB memory sticks and portable music players like iPod®. These CD/MP3 processors can be configured to support a variety of media according to your product specification.

CD/MP3 Processor with an Audio DSP and Decoders: TC94A99FG
The TC94A99FG audio playback processor supports both CD and compressed audio formats and incorporates an audio DSP dedicated to sound effect in addition to an audio decoder DSP. Additionally, the TC94A99FG has a 2-channel ADC to enable sound effect for external audio input streams and a 4.1-channel DAC to make the sound effects reflected to each output channel. The TC94A99FG can play back audio bit streams from USB memory sticks and portable music players like iPod®. It can be configured to support a variety of media according to your product specification.
