ASICs: Image Processor

Application-specific ICs (ASICs) provide the ideal solutions for the image processing applications of inkjet and laser beam printers because they allow the embedding of unique algorithms. Toshiba’s ASICs can be used to realize large system-on-chips (SoCs) that integrate both image processing and system control functions on a single chip. To meet the requirements for high-performance SoCs, Toshiba offers leading-edge ASIC manufacturing process, high-performance processor cores and high-speed interface cores.

The mechanical structures of the engine control section greatly differ from printer to printer. For system cost reduction, Toshiba offers a line of low-cost ASICs, which are suitable for low-volume production of various chips.
