Benefits of Using High-Brightness LEDs
- Improved visibility:
- High-brightness LEDs, have improved visibility even in the daylight and brightly lit rooms. Operating status indicators can be seen clearly even from a distance.
- Low power consumption:
- For the same level of brightness, LED's current and circuit's overall power consumptions are reduced, compared to the case of using general-purpose LEDs. This helps to save energy and extend the battery life of portable equipment. Moreover, smaller resistors with lower power ratings can be used for current-limiting purposes.
- Increased reliability:
- Lower LED current extends the service life.
- Reduced part count:
- Since the number of LEDs required for LCD and graphics backlighting can be reduced, part and assembly costs can be reduced.
